What Stop run does and does not promise
The current prepared alpha has a real product-path cancel contract for active local runtime runs.
What Stop run does
When the selected run is cancellable, Stop run calls the product-path cancel route:
POST /api/tarx/runtime/runs/{runId}/cancelExpected result for an owned active run:
- the worker is cancelled when owned by the runtime
- the run enters
cancelled - a single
run.cancelledevent is recorded - evidence surfaces remain honest
- a later ready-for-review overwrite is not expected
What Stop run does not promise
Stop run does not promise:
- every external process can be killed
- every already-terminal run can be changed
- cloud execution can be stopped
- Supercomputer work can be stopped
- public release behavior
Common responses
| Response | Meaning |
|---|---|
| cancelled | The run was stopped. |
| run already terminal | The run had already completed, failed, or cancelled. |
| worker process not owned | The runtime did not own a cancellable active worker for that run. |
Support line
Use:
Stop run cancels active local work when the prepared runtime owns the worker. It does not rewrite completed runs.
