TARX CLI
Start with TARX in your browser . Add the CLI when your workflow needs Terminal. The current public CLI is 1.2.1.
Install
On macOS or Linux:
curl -fsSL https://cli.tarx.com/install | shThe installer copies the CLI. It does not start a model, a worker, or a background service.
Windows installation is not yet verified for this release.
Check your installation
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
tarx --version | Shows the installed version. |
tarx help | Lists commands in your installed version. |
tarx readiness | Checks local services without starting them. |
A working install does not prove local models, MCP, connectors, or Always On are connected.
Optional runtime check
tarx runtime install is optional. It installs runtime 0.2.0 and needs Node 24 or newer, npm, and Python. It starts nothing.
tarx runtime serve stays read-only. tarx runtime serve-check is a separate command for one public-note check. It does not run unless you start it, and it does not start a model. You choose the directory, model URL, model id, and worker port. Approval without the task flag is read-only pairing.
tarx runtime install
tarx runtime challenge
tarx runtime approve --challenge CODE --task read_launch_note
tarx runtime serve-check --worker-root NEW_DIRECTORY --model-url http://127.0.0.1:PORT/v1 --model-id MODEL --worker-port WORKER_PORTReplace CODE, the directory, the model URL, the model id, and the worker port with your own.
Files and tools
A file becomes context only when you choose to attach it and the agent has permission to read it. A document does not automatically become a tool or skill. Tools and skills need their own runtime permissions.
Public documentation describes the product. It does not expose private local instructions, account files, or founder memory.
